Lyrics:
(to the tune of “My Bonny Lies Over the Ocean”& Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” )
One spring day Ben and his grandfather
On the beach in the bright early morn
While they were both looking for mussels
They saw a seal pup being born
The newborn seal pup
Soon molted her white coat and changed to gray
She basked in the warm sun
She swam with her mom every day
Soon they both became good surfing friends
And their friendship would never end
Ben would watch the seals all his life
Even with his own grandchildren
The following year in the summer
It was Saturday Surf School for Ben
A dark shape swooped under his surfboard
It was the young seal again
Then one day Ben almost drowned
Under the water he was barely alive
Suddenly he felt a new sensation
When the seal saved his life
Soon they both became good surfing friends
And their friendship would never end
Ben would watch the seals all his life
Even with his own grandchildren
Soon they both became good surfing friends
And their friendship would never end
Ben would watch the seals all his life
Even with his own grandchildren
