Songs and StoriesThat Celebrate Global Light

In the early 600’s, a monk used triangular-shaped evergreen trees, to teach people about the holy trinity. As Christianity swept through much of the world, people began to view the evergreen trees as symbols of hope and everlasting love.
Evergreen, in the woods,
Among three hundred trees,
Rising from the frozen earth,
For all the world to see.
Standing tall in the wind,
Your branches dance and sway,
And brush against the snowy ground,
On this winter day.
Evergreen evergreen--
Your roots grow strong and deep!
Like hope, I hope your color stays--
Forever, evergreen.
Snowflakes fall, silently,
And land without a sound;
Catch the light like diamonds,
Along your graceful boughs.
Evergreen evergreen--
Your roots grow strong and deep!
Like hope, I hope your color stays--
Forever, evergreen.
Evergreen, there you are!
All dressed up in white
But hiding underneath the snow, hope reaches for the light...
Evergreen evergreen--
Your roots grow strong and deep!
Like hope, I hope your color stays--
Forever, evergreen.
