Circles
Teaching Concepts of Radius, Diameter and Circumference
Jim Thompson

  Listen to this song.

This song is available on Jim Thompson's "Work It!"

Two pi R is the circumference
Pi R squared is the area
We’re talk’in bout a shape with a diameter
The circle is the shape we’re speak’in of

But first you must know what’s a diameter
A measurement of a chord from edge to edge
But not just any old regular chord
No, the chord must pass through the center
To be called the diameter

And the radius is half the diameter
( I said it’s half and it will always be)
The radius is half the diameter
( the pi is math not the kind that you eat )
knowing pi is 3.14

and I know what to do with an exponent
multiply the number by itself as many times as it says
yes I know…
